Soft Launch @ Ventnor Fringe 2017 Episode 1: Setting up and Settling in
It has been very exciting 48 hours here in Ventnor. As you may know, this is our soft launch as a REAL FUNCTIONING PERFORMANCE VENUE. The clue is in the title so we're taking it soft and slow (good tip for doing anything for the first time children!) and boy has it paid off! Since arriving on Monday after a lovely sunny crossing (watch out for pictures of Kate with her tongue out, that means she's enjoying herself and we're all good and chilled!) we made our way to Ventnor and parked Penny on the Sea Front in front of gorgeous Observatory bar. Apart from a little delay due water lorries fixing pipes and pumps we managed to set up the stage well smooth.
On Tuesday we had the honour of being the first guests on Fringe's #TheReviewShow podcast talking about the project and all things van. Despite nervous giggles think we did ok. Will add a link here so you can go and listen yourself. "Is it Yoppul?", installation about Isle of Wight speech by Steven Sales, opened on Tuesday and can be found inside The Errant Stage every day of the Fringe from 12-8pm.
We've also had time to finish building our website and social media presence and enjoy some great performances including "The Adventures of Prince Achmed", the oldest existing animation with an incredible live score!
Today it's Wednesday and the weather had no mercy on Ventnor Carnival. However I'm having a good time updating the blog after being boost by a rather strong coffee made by the lovely Bangers and Mash team! Will be watching Kate perform at Puppet Bingo tonight, very exciting.
lots of love, The Admin Gal (my superhero alterego may not be the most glamorous but it is damn effective)
